Where 90s Anime Meets the Diaspora
Our founder grew up watching anime with her sisters and has always loved the rich storytelling found in these shows. She thought: why not take a relic of her childhood and weave it into the bold color and pattern she grew up around in the African diaspora.
Every design is drawn by a human hand. No gen AI artwork here.
Our clothes are made for plus-size and tall bodies of every gender. They are cut roomy on purpose. Most brands take a size medium and make it wider, that is why clothing doesn't fit quite right. We do not do that. We made sure to fit our samples to a plus-size model, to make sure they are roomy where they need to be.

Questions
When is the drop?
The clothes are being made right now. We will not open the drop until they are in our hands. That way, when you order, it ships. The list gets the date first.
When will it ship?
Within 3 to 4 business days of your order. We do not sell what is still on a boat.
Can I cancel?
Before it ships, yes. Cancel any time and we refund you in full.
After it arrives, you have 14 days to send it back unworn and unwashed with the tags on, for a full refund. Return shipping is $9, unless the piece showed up damaged. Then it is on us.
Do you use AI art?
No. Every design is drawn by a person and inspired by our brand's ethos. That is the whole point.
Is this really for every gender, or is it just menswear?
We drafted the pattern on a plus-size body, with a full bust and full arms. That is where clothes usually are snug, and it is where we started. So the oversized fit is oversized on that body, not just on a straight-size one.
What is the fabric?
100% viscose. It comes from plant pulp, and it is not a natural fiber. We are not going to pretend otherwise. We chose it because nothing else falls quite like it.
How do I take care of it?
Cold water. Never wring it out. Reshape it while it is damp, then hang it to dry. No dryer, ever.
Why does it cost this much?
Somebody drew this. An artist sat down and drew it by hand. No AI touched it.
The stitching is satin stitch, which is dense. Dense costs time. You can see it in the sun.
The Lava Lamp has gold seed beads on the back, and beads go on one at a time.
It is 100% viscose, because nothing else falls quite like it.
